Bulgar and millet salad with thinly sliced nectarines, garbanzo beans, heaps of fresh parsley and dill, topped with toasted almond and pine nuts. Nectarines in a savory salad = delish! This could totally be done with rice, we just have a wild assortment of odd grains in our cupboard that we are trying to eat before the big move.
A rustic cherry tart. Great way to use some leftover pie dough in the freezer. The cherries were tossed with almond extract which really brings out the sweetness of the fruit. Plus, it is basically a pie and that means it is awesome.
* I do recognize that it isn't officially summer yet, but if it is so hot that we need to run our air conditioner, it is summer in my book.
Fun keepin' up with your blog. :) I LOVED your last entry about Washington. Oh my word - I loved Gilmore Girls and your recounting of life there just melted my heart through and through. I totally get how someone as cute as you could grow up there. Love it!
