The past two weeks since the last post have been rather eventful.
That Friday night we celebrated Anna's 30th birthday. She and Graham threw an incredible party. The birthday girl looked fabulous with her big hair and fun party frock.

Tuesday brought a trifecta of joy. A local garden store decided to buy Becky Brown pies to sell in their cafe. If you're in Cape Town, check out Twigs Nursery in Harfield Village for a slice. Later in the day I had a interview for a position writing health education training materials and walked away with the job! And then that evening we moved back to our house, because as of 2pm that day we owned it. Oh, and it was butter chicken Tuesday, but I'll give that weekly holiday its own post some other time. Yippee all around.
Last Friday night I catered a party for 40 people at the Nattrass/Seekings home in Hout Bay (the location of our second wedding bash). The staff and students of the Centre for Social Science Research feasted upon garden salad with coriander and lime dressing, basmati rice with peas, dhal, coconut chicken curry, roasted cauliflower with cumin seeds, green beans with feta, and rosemary butternut. For dessert there were vanilla roasted apples and pears and two mocha cakes with coffee glaze. Yum for us, but bummer for you as I completely spaced and didn't take a single picture.
We've also been in home renovation mode since last week. The supports in the wooden floors have been repaired The remaining carpeted room had the carpet removed and wood floor sanded and sealed. Kitchen cupboard have been sanded, sealed, and farnished. Cracked window panes have been replaced. And painting has begun. I made a home tour last week to show off the house in its 'before' state. Once we've got this place looking sharp I'll post the 'after.'
